We kept seeing comments on the internet about how great this place is, so we gave it a try. Not one positive thing to report. I am a Chinese Food junkie, I could eat it six days a week, but this gruel was nasty. The food was warm at best and tasted like something you would get in a frozen food section of the supermarket. Also, the waitress was surly and it took forever to be waited on. I'll hit Burger King before I go back here.

This place is about as close as you can get without eating cow viscera with chop sticks in a rice patty. The drinks are good. My wife and I went here, watched UFC, got fucking hammered, and still ate.... On under 100 bucks. I don't know how that happened. The crab Rangoon was good and they had these scallion pancakes that were awesome as hell. I like this joint and will return.

Thank you Shanghai Charlie for an unforgettable night. Myself and three friends came in with a group on and they treated us like gold. The drinks were so good I got extremely trashed and I'm sure I was acting stupid but the service was still dynamite. The crab Rangoon is to die for and the friend rice and wanton soup is soo delicious. It was a lively night and the atmosphere is something you would see in Boston or Vegas simply stunning. My one small complaint is I think your wait staff should dress in a uniform. Everything else is so pretty and Charlie always looks dapper that I think an all black outfit or black and white uniform would make this all ready terrific place perfect.

Bad. I think they have one kind of sauce that they put on everything, and it's bad. And I'm pretty sure the vegetables in the Ma Po Tofu I ordered had gone bad. I don't think anyone at our table was super excited with what they ordered, and I'm pretty sure something that was supposed to be chicken was actually pork... and it was bad. One person in our group ordered sake and it came floating in a metal teapot full of hot water, which was just weird.Another weird thing is they sat our table in this giant banquet room, which was empty except for the stale smell of old cigarettes and a little boy playing a video game... we felt like we had misbehaved. Service was on the slow side, the manager/host guy seemed kind of bossy, and our waitress seemed a little sad, which made me feel kind of sad for her. Also, their water tastes like band aids... I get that the city water is probably the problem, but there are these magical things called "filters" and I have it on good authority that they work. The bar was busy, and judging from the giant pupu platters I saw, this place might be great for fried things and scorpion bowls, but that is not what I had.

anyone leaving a bad comment isnt a regular obviously. Shang is the spot. They are the most generous chinese place around not to mention their hospitality. Ben and Larry are the two best bartenders you can ask for. If you are looking to go on a date, hang with your friends, or even go out with your family, there isn't a better chinese place around trust me.

I go to Shanghai often because their food is good with a reasonable price. The atmosphere is fexible... for quiet dinning, you can go to the dining room or for more social/loud side, you can go to the bar. The staff are all friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Shanghai Gardens is the absolute pinnicle of thee Asian dininig experience! The food is utterly fantastic and even more praise worthy is consistancy of the taste! The staff is all around a phenomenol group, personable, congenial, and diligent in thier endeavors. The decor is a rich, modern, oriental setting that somehow still evoke deep Asian traditions, very well done. Shanghai is always in pristine condition, the staff make a collective effort to uphold such high standards and do so without swimmingly.
